By signing an agreement with SIA Depozīta Iepakojuma Operators, companies in the HoReCa industry (hotels, restaurants, other food services, office and conference centres) will get a convenient service: once they accumulate a certain amount of empty deposit packaging, they will be able to hand it over directly to the deposit system operator for free, receiving a payment for every unit of packaging deposited. Participation of the HoReCa industry in the deposit system will encourage the effective management of deposit packaging, and will help take another step towards implementing a sustainable packaging circulation system in Latvia.
The Agreement on return of the Deposit packaging from the Customer applies to such Customers who provide catering, hospitality, rental of premises, organization of conferences or perform other activities, and are not required to participate in the deposit packaging system, however they receive the used deposit packaging, which they want to transfer to DIO to manage within the deposit system.
A correctly completed agreement must be signed with an electronically secure signature and sent to the person indicated in the company details to tirgotājs@dio.lv.

The service will be cost-effective and convenient for events where more than 1000 deposit packaging items are to be collected.
To apply for the service, the Event Organiser must fill in an application form (see ‘Documents’) and indicate the technical specifications of the event, as well as the required number of transportation units (bags and/or containers) for the deposit packaging. DIO will review the application and prepare a cooperation agreement on the basis of the application, as well as a cost estimate for the service.
The service is adapted to service events of different capacities:
Small events (estimated amount of deposit packaging: 1000 to 3000)
Large events (estimated amount of deposit packaging: >3000)
The completed application must be sent to the representatives of SIA Depozīta Iepakojuma Operators at tirgotajs@dio.lv. After reviewing the application, DIO will contact you and arrange the conclusion of the Agreement.

Once the agreement is signed with SIA Depozīta Iepakojuma Operators, it will provide transport bags and covers for them for storing empty deposit packaging.
The packaging must be sorted and prepared for transportation using the instructions provided in the HoReCa manual, in the information materials issued to the retailer.
Packaging is picked up by DIO, arranging the schedule in advance with the HoReCa company in question.
Custom-design refillable glass packaging is returned to the manufacturer, subject to prior agreement between the manufacturer and the HoReCa company.
In order to assess the need for the service, we invite you to assess the potential volumes of empty deposit packaging and the possibilities to organise their collection and handover at deposit points using internal resources. The service provided by DIO will be cost-effective and convenient for events where more than 1000 deposit packaging items are planned to be collected, as well as for events where large volumes of beverage deposit packaging are planned to be distributed to participants for immediate use.

The exact cost of the service will be calculated after review of the completed application.
The Event Organiser is responsible for ensuring that the bags/containers contain only empty and deposit packaging that has not been flattened. If other materials or waste are present in the bags/containers together with the deposit packaging, or if many of the deposit packaging items have not been emptied, DIO is entitled to impose a fine of up to EUR 10 per bag or up to EUR 25 per container.
After collection from the venue, the packaging will be taken to the DIO Accounting and Sorting Centre where it will be registered. After registration, DIO will refund the deposit fee for the returned packaging by transferring it to the bank account indicated in the Event Organiser’s agreement by the 25th date of the following month.
The customer also has the option to direct the deposit fee received to one of DIO’s current charity projects.
By concluding an agreement with SIA Depozīta Iepakojuma Operators, transport bags and their fasteners and/or containers will be provided in which empty deposit packaging can be stored and handed over.
Packaging must be sorted and prepared for transport in accordance with the information specified in the Agreement.
Removal of the packaging is carried out by DIO. Unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, removal shall take place on working days and during working hours.
